BAMF of the Day: NBA rookie of the year Kyrie Irving goes undercover at a pickup basketball game, dressed as the aging “Uncle Drew.” Unbeknownst to his opponents, Uncle Drew’s got skills, and he wants you kids to get off his lawn court.

This is basically the best disguise for a pro basketball player since Larry Johnson dressed up as Grandmama to help out Steve Urkel and sell some Converse shoes.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game

**These facts are crazy. If you tell me 2001, I honestly don’t think it was that long ago. When you compare it to these facts…holy shit, that was SO long ago.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, I was 10 years old. Odds are close to none but if the Knicks could win this series, aka take the next three games, it would be as epic as watching the 2004 Red Sox take the ALCS from the Yanks.**

nbaoffseason:

was on April 29th, 2001. The following is a list of events and facts also of that time:

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Iman Shumpert was only 10 years old.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, they beat a Vince Carter led Toronto Raptors.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, most people didn’t even know who Osama Bin Laden was.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, most people didn’t know what a Wikipedia was since it just launched that year.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, George W. Bush was in his fourth month as POTUS.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, the X-BOX had not been released yet.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, the word “iPod” had not yet entered our lexicon.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, MySpace, Facebook and “social media” was non-existent and people were mostly using LiveJournal.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, people were still using “Ask Jeeves”.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Harry Potter was just getting popular.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Halle Berry became the first African-American to receive an Academy Award for Best Actress.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, American audiences were enamored by French Manic Pixie Dream Girl Audrey Tatou for the first time.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, the band At The Drive-In had just called it quits.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Michael Jackson was still recording his album Invincible.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Joey Ramone had passed two weeks prior.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Alex Trebek still had a mustache.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, I had just received my driver’s license and got my first car.

The last time the Knicks won a playoff game, Deion Sanders was training for the Cincinnati Reds.

OK I have beaten this point to death by now, but really the last time the Knicks won a playoff game, it was quite a different world we were living in. It’s truly amazing to think that it’s actually taken THAT long for them to even get back to this point. I mean we’re celebrating them winning just a SINGLE game, in a series that I dare not even entertain the idea of them conceivably coming back from. But here we are eleven years later (11 years, 8 days to be exact) and I have to say, for the time being, it feels pretty good.

Laughs Out Loud

LOL. I’m dying. @rollinginthedeep89 posted a video of Future performing Tony Montana during the playoffs and I scroll down and @christianqtc posted a gif of John Wall hittin’ his dougie. John Wall was giggin’ perfectly to Tony Montana.

Bitter yet grateful because it could be worse…

I wanna sit here and say my dumbass misplaced and lost my phone. But that shit was going straight to voicemail last night and it was fully charged! Some idiot really stole my 2008 model of a back up phone. I hope they’re proud.

What to do…what to do….

This guy on my twitter feed is going in on his thoughts (power to him though, it’s some real shit.), but every time he’s meant “you’re”, he’s typed “your”.

I just need a QB that can accurately throw the ball to receivers…

…thanks to our O-line, it doesn’t even have to be a quick release…

Anyone who has ever continuously believed in Alex Smith over the past 7 years believes all he really needs is consistency…and healthy receivers. Niners are providing that for the first time in his professional career. If he chooses to go to the Dolphins, he’s fucking that up for himself and will be playing under his 8th OC in 8 years. How can ANY qb, other than a select few (Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers), feel offended by their team going after Manning? I mean, of course I know how they can feel offended but that’s the business. They know it.

And I’m not mad at all over Manning picking Denver. Wish him the best. My heart does go out a little to Tebow though, smh. Wish him nothing but the best also. At the end of the day, I would never question Manning’s decision making. He knows what he’s doing. I’d like to think he was never going to pick an NFC team because his brother plays in the NFC. I think he’d much rather play against him in the Super Bowl rather than having to beat him to get there. And between the two AFC options he left himself with, he picked the better team.

Totally bummed that Matt Flynn will be playing for the Seahawks. I wanted to see his career explode, preferably in SF. I had even said last season that it would be nice if the Niners could pick him up once he was a free agent. But now…I cannot stand Pete Carroll therefore I cannot wish him a ring for the next 3 years. He actually would have been nice even in Miami. Sigh. Oh well.

The thought of Kaepernick as the Niners starting QB makes my stomach turn. Well, kind of. I’m one of those blind believers when it comes to the Niners and will stand by almost any decision they make. But still. I haven’t seen enough from him to decide. It makes me nervous because he’s still such a newb. But honestly, I don’t remember the last time this front office and this coaching staff made a bad decision. If they really run with him as the starter, I’m prepared to see it work despite feeling like it won’t.

That’s all. My 2 cents.

MIA

Something is missing from my life. I try to fill the void with keeping busy. I’m burying myself in work and school but every relationship outside of that seems to be suffering. “My bad” gets said more than it ever should. But I’m not out to make excuses for myself…even though this post likely seems like one too.
